Amanda Seyfried Cast as Lead in Ted 2

Ted creator Seth MacFarlane has cast Amanda Seyfried after working with the actress on his forthcoming film, A Million Ways to Die in the West. Deadline reports that Seyfried will replace Mila Kunis, who was the love interest opposite Mark Wahlberg in the first film. The report says Kunis’ role in the sequel—if she appears at all—will be small.

There is no bad blood however, MacFarlane and Kunis remain close, still working on Family Guy together. It was stated that the lead change was “a creative decision that MacFarlane decided to take with the plotting of the sequel.” Ted 2 is scheduled to be in theaters on June 26, 2015.
