Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg to Write and Direct Film Based on Nintendo vs. Sega Console Wars Book
Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg pulled all their friends together to end the world, so what better way to unwind from than with some old-school videogames? According to Collider, producer Scott Rudin bought the film rights to Blake Harris’ Console Wars: Sega, Nintendo and the Battle that Defined a Generation, and tabbed Rogen and Goldberg to write and direct.
Considering The Social Network started as a Rudin production based on an unpublished book, this movie might have a similar bent, regardless of its writer/director team’s funny credentials. There’s also no word on when it will all come together, as Rogen and Goldberg are also tied up with killing Kim Jong-un, adapting Preacher into an AMC series and creating a R-rated animated movie called Sausage Party. Either way, we can only hope at least one of those projects features the classic Console Wars-era character of James Pond, who surely deserves some form of a movie adaptation by now.
